Founding member (2018)
Ryan Eberhart was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. He graduated from John Glenn High School in Westland in 1997. After graduating from John Glenn he earned his Associates Degree from Schoolcraft College in 2002. Upon graduating from Schoolcraft Ryan transferred to Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI. Ryan studied Social Studies for the Secondary Education Teacher focusing on American History. Ryan earned his Bachelor Degree of Arts in 2006. Ryan was a substitute teacher from 2006 to 2008. In 2009, Ryan began working on his Master of Arts Degree in Social Science with a focus on American History from the American Revolution to the American Civil War. He earned his Master’s in 2012 from Eastern Michigan University.
In 2009, Ryan also began volunteering at the Westland Historic Village Park in Westland, MI. A month after joining the Westland Historical Society Ryan was voted in as Vice President; year later Ryan was elevated to be President of the WHS when the President resigned. In 2012, Ryan applied and was appointed as a Commissioner with the Westland Historical Commission. He is currently working as the President of the WHC.
In 2014, Ryan was hired as an Archivist for the Belleville Area Museum. He has worked in that capacity since then accessioning artifacts, scanning documents, and completing other tasks that may need to be done. Most often Ryan is called upon to help visitors with research questions, specifically the houses they live in. It is this last task that makes Ryan the perfect choice to be a researcher with Great Lakes Ghost Hunters.
Since Ryan has been a part of the Great Lakes Ghost Hunters of Michigan he has been a part of almost all of the investigations the team has been called upon to conduct. Ryan is currently working on a book in which tells his journey from skeptic to believer. Ryan says it was the investigations at Fort Winnebago, when he caught his first orb on video, and at Hinsdale House, when he caught multiple orbs on video in Mary’s Room, and at Monroe House. All three locations affected Ryan in ways that are yet to be explained. Fellow team members Brenda and Jessica have said that Ryan has become a true believer and has been forever changed by these experiences.
