History:
The Wildwood Sanitarium resides currently on the Seneca Indian Reservation in Salamanca, NY. The house is an old Victorian style building that has one tower. It was built in 1900 and in 1906 was opened up as a Sanitarium and Bath House. The Sanitarium and bathhouse was run by Dr. John Henderson and Dr. Carroll W Perry. According to the current owner, the sanitarium was “Forced” to become a tuberculosis clinic about 1923. The property was owned by the same doctors, Carroll W Perry and John Henderson until their deaths in 1941.
It was said that the clinic forced TB patients to stand out in the cold weather as a cure for their conditions.
Currently the site hosts investigations for paranormal teams for the restoration of the house.
Claims:
The owner reports seeing shadow figures on one of the stairways in the home, orbs and many EVPs.
Investigation
The team broke up into smaller groups through the house. Ryan and Brenda went to the second floor (former Light Therapy room) and began an EVP session.
Brenda, Ryan and Jessica then made it to the third floor to do an SB-11 session.
While in the room, Brenda felt like a male entity was trying to attach to her and at 4:52 it sounds like a No or Growl when saying you cannot use Brenda’s energy. While in the room, the temperature would rise up four degrees at various times. The owner stated that there was a male staff entity named Charlie that occupies that room.
Brenda went downstairs after the entity on the third floor appear to try to attach to her and Ryan and Jessica went to the medical room and did an SB-11 and Dowsing Rod session. On the SB-11, they received responses like they were “Ready” and they received confirmation that they were speaking with a former patient. Jessica believes the entity was named “Victoria.”
The team later went up to “Linda’s Room” due to Jessica picking up a spirit named Victoria attached to a doll.
The owner of the site stated that they receive doll donations a lot and the packaging usually doesn’t have a return address.
We then went to the basement and attempted an EVP and SLS camera session. While in the basement we captured a female voice saying, “here” then a small figure on the SLS (the video then picks up Jessica after the smaller entity). Jessica did some automatic writing while in the basement and came up with the name “Jeremiah.” Jeremiah was a confirmed spirit by Daniel Klaes , owner of Hinsdale House, who has investigated the site numerous times.
During some of the renovations, the owner has found items such as bottles, golf clubs, and other objects.

Conclusion:

Wildwood Sanitarium has been known for lots of paranormal activity, however, when our team was there little activity presented itself. We did make contact with a spirit named Victoria and another named Jeremiah. Whatever the reason for the lack of activity, the potential is there. A return trip might be in order to determine if we can capture more activity. Maybe next time we can speak with Agnes, Bertha or Sue who were nurses at the Sanitarium. Next time, maybe we can contact Linda who was a patient in what is now the Doll Room. Or maybe next time we can talk with Victoria and find out why she is attached to one of the dolls in the Doll Room.
