Claims:
Black Shadow Figures, a ghost boy who was killed by a buzz saw accident in 1942, visitors having car issues,UFO activity and people being injured on the site. There are claims that Pukwudgies cause havoc and harm those on the site. Footsteps heard at all hours of the night.
History:
According to Billie, the house was built approximately 1850’s. It was a one point a stage coach stop and two brother’s owned the house. The brothers would kill unknowing victims and place them in the crawl space above the Kitchen. There is also a tree in the area called the Hanging Tree. A lady in white, named Pearl, was hung there due to being pregnant out of wedlock by one of the owners of the Hinsdale House. Two brothers got into an argument by the Giving Tree and one shot the other.The land is also a known Indian Battle Site.
In the 1970’s the property was purchased by the Dandy family, which the mother wrote a book about her experiences living in the home. It is believed three of her children are spirits at the home (Mike and Laura d 1992). The family left the home in 1974.
Many paranormal teams have investigated the site and it has been on national paranormal shows.
Pre-investigation:
Upon coming into the building, Brenda got extremely nauseous that lasted about 20 minutes (according to Paranormal Lockdown, that’s one sign of demonic activity).
The team met with Billie who gave us the history of the house and talked about the activity other’s have experienced in the house. The house is currently going through construction and there is no cell phone access and sporadic wifi. There is electricity in the lower part of the house but no power in the upstairs.
The team went through and did basic readings of the house. The dowsing rods were taken through the home and found two possible spots where portal entries were but they were not very strong (Living room by the window facing the pond and Mary’s Room).
We then went to give an offering to the natives at the Giving Tree. The walk up and back were very hard due to the ground being clay and the rain causing it to be very slick. Three of the eldest team members fell on the way back (in the paranormal things happen in threes). Did the Pukwudgie do it?
Investigation:
We scanned the home with the SLS camera but was unable to pick up an anomalies in the home. We then began an EVP session and recorded it with video and audio. Before turning on the SP-11 we captured two EVP’s. One was a boy’s voice.
The Ovilus picked up a few words. The first word was “British.” Were we in an area during the American Revolution that was British occupied (it was July 5 around American Independence Day, Coincidence?)The area was first settled by Europeans around 1765, called by the Indian name Ischua. Officially, this was illegal, as the British had declared the land in the Allegheny River watershed to be part of the Indian Reserve after conquering the territory in the French and Indian War two years prior. The surface is a hilly upland, separated into two distinct parts by the valley of the Allegheny.
The Ovilus also said “As” and “Axe”
We then brought out our “Eloise Box” to do some more ITC communication. (it’s called the Eloise box because the wood came from the old Wayne County Hospital in Westland, MI). The box gave a lot of communication and said our names. It told us to “leave” and “get out”. Was it warning us that the house structure was not safe (Ace and AJ went to the basement and said the supports looked like they were giving way) or was the spirits not happy we were there.
We then moved to a session where each investigator, except Carrie, participated. We used the SP-7, a sleep mask and head phones. We have the investigator sit in a chair and start the SP-7. They could not hear our questions and would only respond with what the SP-7 said. We got some interesting responses with it.
Ryan and Brenda left about Midnight and returned to the hotel while Ace, Carrie, AJ and Jessica remained to stay the night in the house.
Ace and Jessica reported hearing a man laughing in the kitchen about 4 am. We looked through our videos but the audio did not show up.
Upon leaving the house, Ace was touched and you could see the hair on his arms stand up. Was someone telling him goodbye? Brenda thinks some members were drawn to the house and appeared to have a hard time leaving. We all got in our cars and rang the Tibetan Singing bowl to prevent any entities following us home.
The trip home was very treacherous, too, We drove through many rain storms and had a severe one past near Sandusky where all the cars on the freeway pulled to the side because you could not see the road or anyone ahead of you (we have never seen this on a freeway before).
