History:

The Hackett Auto Museum has an interesting history. According to the timeline that the museum has on their website the first known occupant of the building S. Heyser & Sons. S. Heyser & Sons was a manufactured sashes, doors and blinds. They occupied the building from 1886 to 1893.

From 1893 to 1894 the Lewis & Allen Spring Co is listed in the Polk Directory. Charles Lewis is listed as the President.

In 1903 the Jackson Automobile Company began manufacturing the Jaxson steam car.

From 1905 to 1912, the Lewis Spring & Axle, with Charles Lewis as President occupied the building. Charles Lewis died suddenly on February 24th 1912. At the time of his death the Lewis Spring & Axle Co was valued at $700,000.

From 1912 to 1914 the Standard Electric Car Company manufactured their car in the building. C.G. McCutchen was President with C.F. Krueger as Vice President.

In 1914 the building was retooled to make the ARGO car for the Briscoe Automobile Company. In 1915 or 1916 the Briscoe Automobile Company changed to the Argo Automobile Company. Benjamin Briscoe is listed as President.

From 1916 to 1919 the building housed the Hackett Automobile Company and was run by Horace Mansell Hackett. In 1919 Horace Hackett sold the building to David Buick and left the car business.

After Horace Hackett sold the building it was occupied by the American Gear & Manufacturing from 1920 to 1934. The building is listed as being vacant in 1939, however from 1940 to 1951 the Jackson Citizen Patriot occupied the building.

From 1952 to 1960 Walker Manufacturing of Racine, Wisconsin which made auto accessories.

From 1961 to 1984 the building stood vacant.

From 1985 to 1991 the Jackson Citizen Patriot used the building for storage.

From 1992 to 2014 the building again was listed as being vacant.

The building was owned by Advanced Central, a business management consultant company between 2015 and 2017.

In December 2017, the building was purchased by Richard D. McLellan of Okemos on behalf of Horace & Mabel Hackett Foundation.

Claims:

We began the investigation gathering basic readings of the building.  Outside of the building, Patty was getting EMF readings that went to about 7 (Patty used to work for Miss Dig).  The building has no power or running water and is gutted inside pending upcoming construction.

Patty did a dowsing rod session and we believe she was in contact with Evelyn an office worker.

Brenda went through with a blue light to check for blood due to an allegation of someone being injured but nothing was found.  She then went through with the FLIR to capture some anomalies or shadow figures. She may have captured a couple and took regular photos of the same areas for comparison.

Brenda was there in 2018 and thinks there was an auto worker that was crushed there buy a car due to her empathic experience of feeling crushed and having a hard time breathing.  She also had pains in 2018 like she was being stabbed and captured a voice saying, “I am now” when she asked if they were stabbing someone.

We attempted to get in contact with Evelyn, an alleged former office employee but we didn’t seem to get her to reach out to us.

Jessica walked through and captured photos and heard many sounds. Some sound like factory noises and others like rocks being thrown.

Brenda then went through the building with the SLS camera.  At the start a stick figure showed up and as Ryan walked passed, it appeared to be giving Ryan a high five or a smack on the back.

After we gathered our photos and videos, Jessica and Brenda began and EVP and flashlight session.  The flashlight gave yes/no responses on command. It appeared we had an inmate from the original Jackson prison who was in prison for armed robbery (he may have been an accessory due to the way the flashlight went).  From there we used the spirit box to attempt verbal communication but only captured, “I’m here honey.”

We closed out the session and thanked all who communicated.
