Brenda attended an investigation with SKAR Encounter, a paranormal team from Fort Wayne, IN.
Equipment:
SLS camera, SP-11, SP-7, Dowsing Rods, Blue light, Ghost Meter, Digital video and audio recorders, Ovilus.
The team met with the representative of the Prospect House. The home is still under construction and they use fees from paranormal groups to help with the restoration of the home. This site has been investigated by Ghost Adventurers and Ghost Hunters in the past.

The home was built by G.W. Adams (pictured) about 1850. Mr Adams was a wealthy man in the area and owned mills and built bridges in the area. The home had to be rebuilt a year after it’s completed due to a fire from one of the construction workers so he could keep his job building the house. The house has approximately 27 rooms (closets were counted as the rooms). The home is mainly known for being a stop for the underground railroad.
It is confirmed at one point that a bounty hunter showed to the site to find runaway slaves and Mr. Adams and the workers made the bounty hunter leave the property. It is then alleged the workers followed the bounty hunter to the camp and brought him back to the barn and held a mock trial ending with the hanging in the barn of the bounty hunter.
Mr. Adams experienced a lot of deaths of his family members (wife and children). He had a large family and married twice. After his death, his daughter, Jane, inherited the home and her inheritance was used up by her husband who left the family and was never heard of again. Jane then opened the home and rented rooms to maintain money for her family.
Lastly, it was alleged that people broken into the home and did Satanic Rituals in the upper level of the house. The staff put a cross on the wall in the room to ward off anything that may have come up from the rituals.
Investigation:
Brenda and Carrie went to the barn to gather some video footage for reference for later images. While in the barn, Brenda captures a “Hey” when the video first began but nothing appeared after that. Photos were taken of the barn and one area we first thought was a shadow but when we returned, it was the way the door was stained that looked like a human figure.
We all toured the basement and there was a high amount of dust. Brenda couldn’t continue due to allergy issues from being in the basement. This was the area they held the runaway slaves and allegedly the body of a little girl, who died in the winter, in a well until they could bury her in the spring.
We then returned inside the home. Brenda began getting readings of the home. The humidity was so high some of the videos appear to have a fogginess to them.
Dowsing rods were taken through the rooms on the first level and three different spots showed possible portal areas.
The EMF meter was used and the temperature was about 78F in the home and the EMF remained at zero.
Brenda and Jared held a short EVP session in the main room.
The team broke up and went to other areas of the home.
When it became dark and cooler, the FLIR was used outside to see if entities could be picked up in the field where they runaways would have come once they seen the light signaling it was safe to approach up in the cupola. The heat was still high in the trees and ground.
From there, Ryan and Scott took the SLS camera and did some recordings in the home. We captured some entities that cannot be explained on the camera. Videos are marked on the Youtube Channel.
Near the end of the night, we returned to the barn with the SLS camera. It is alleged that there is man in there that does not like women in the barn. Carrie stated she saw a young boy and we did have a stick figure pop up on the SLS.
Amanda and Brenda went upstairs to Constance’s Room. The museum staff found an old black Victorian top dress and have it placed in the room. We were told Constance liked to dance so we played some old 1880’s music for her (she died in 1891). The Ovilus began to come up with the following words: Numbers, Early, Chance, Happy, Vinegar, 5, Providence, Myself, Score, Funeral, Console, Tub, Daddy, Cube, After.
The team separated again and Brenda remained in a room by herself. During that time she ran a video in the silent house hoping to capture movement or walking. The only thing that came up was a few “Pop” on the recorder but nothing substantial.

Brenda states her ears are ringing and there is a whisper. It almost sounds like “Brenda”
Brenda ended her investigation at 2 am.
Conclusion:
The site was a great historical home and has lots of energy. The home has some sandstone in the construction and may be part of the conductor of the paranormal activity. It’s hard to tell at this time who is the active entity(ies) in the home based on only being there one time.
